Marilyn Monroe, who shuffled off this mortal coil Aug. 5, 1962, is being remembered in a three-day series of events involving the Hollywood Museum on Saturday through Monday.

Events on tap include a Saturday meet-and-greet from 1 to 3 p.m. at the museum with collectors Greg Schreiner, president of the Marilyn Remembered fan club and Scott Fortner, president of the Marilyn fan club.

On Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m., the museum hosts a series of book signings that include Lois Banner (author of “Marilyn: The Passion and the Paradoxâ€), Douglas Kirkland (“An Evening With Marilynâ€) and James Spada (“Marilyn Monroe: Her Life in Pictures “).

But the culminating event comes on Monday, Aug. 5, the actual 51st anniversary of Monroe’s passing, when the museum co-hosts the annual “Marilyn Remembered†memorial service at the Westwood Village Memorial Park, 1218 Glendon Ave, Westwood.

Not coincidentally through Sept. 8 the Hollywood Museum is home to “Marilyn: The Exhibit,†which it bills as “the largest exhibit of authentic items, costumes and personal memorabilia in the United States.â€
