Next time you want to pull a school prank, make sure it’s something that doesn’t actually put people in the hospital.

A 15-year-old high school student in Chicago spiked his school cafeteria’s marinara with hot sauce, ABC News reported.

Sounds like a harmless prank from an ‘80s teen movie, except three of the school’s staff members had to be hospitalized after inhaling the fumes. The spiked sauce was flagged after a student took a bite, thought the sauce was way too hot and alerted the staff.

“Several staff and students reported reactions to the sauce, including coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and skin rashes,†Highland Park High School spokeswoman Natalie Kaplan told ABC News.

A little hot sauce never really harmed anyone right?

The prankster, whose name has not been released, used a sauce called “Da Bomb.†The hot sauce brand has many variations, but its “The Final Answer†sauce measures 1,500,000 Scoville units (the units used to measure heat) on the brand’s website. That number is close to the units measured for pepper spray used by law enforcement.

The student will be charged on five counts of misdemeanor battery.
