4 In-N-Out secret after-hours creations

Everyone knows the “secret†menu at In-N-Out isn’t a secret. Even they know it. The menu is dubbed on the company website the “Not-so-secret menu.â€

An order of Animal Fries, which for those of you not in the know, consists of fries topped with cheese, grilled onions and sauce, is a common burger side, and you’d be hard pressed to find a high school kid who doesn’t know he can order a grilled cheese. But what about the creations the employees come up with on their own, after hours?

Happy National Peanut Butter Lover’s DayIn a Reddit “Ask Me Anything†forum, a cook from an In-N-Out in Arizona, who goes by the name “dravila9,†divulged the wacky creations he makes with his co-workers after the burger chain closes.

1. The bacon burger. Seems like a no-brainer, right? This Double-Double burger with grilled onions has a hefty layer of bacon.

2. Bacon animal fries. A regular order of animal fries is topped with pieces of burger patties, bacon and Famous Dave’s BBQ sauce. These look like they may need a fork, or five!

3. Doughnuts. Yes, doughnuts in the kitchen at In-N-Out. But how? “Dravila9†made doughnuts by squirting milkshake syrup onto buns, then frying them. Hey, doughnut chains, you paying attention?

4. Super baked potato. It’s a fried, cored potato stuffed with chopped burger patties, melted cheese, onions, chiles and tomatoes. Sounds like a new Thanksgiving dinner staple.

If you could come up with any In-N-Out creation, what would it be? If you let me loose in the kitchen after closing I’d have to make hashbrowns with the potatoes, throw in some chiles, stuff it into a Double-Double burger with bacon, add pickles, grilled and raw onions, deep fry the entire thing, then cover it in chocolate sauce. But hey, that’s just me.
