Sarah Palin plans holiday book about keeping Christ in Christmas
Former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin has a new book coming, the Associated Press reports. The book, “A Happy Holiday IS a Merry Christmas,†will discuss the “over-commercialism†and “homogenization†of Christmas, publisher Harper Collins said.
The book will be released in November, in time for the holiday shopping season.
In a statement, Palin described “Happy Holiday†as a “fun, festive, thought provoking book, which will encourage all to see what is possible when we unite in defense of our faith and ignore the politically correct Scrooges who would rather take Christ out of Christmas.†It will echo the popular conservative call for “reserving Jesus Christ in Christmas--whether in public displays, school concerts (or) pageants.â€
Palin is the author of, previously, “Going Rogue,†about her experience as John McCain’s vice presidential nominee in 2008, and “America by Heart,†both released by HarperCollins. A Palin family fitness and self-discipline book, announced in October, has yet to materialize.
The former Alaska governor joins 2008 contender Mike Huckabee on the Christmas-themed Republican reading list. Huckabee’s “A Simple Christmas,†which includes 12 personal stories of the holiday spirit, was released in November.
Palin, who recently lost her contract with Fox News, will speak later this week at the Conservative Political Action Conference.
