Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly plans on “Killing Jesus.â€

That will be his next book. O’Reilly has topped bestseller lists with two prior histories, “Killing Kennedy: The End of Camelot,†and “Killing Lincoln: The Shocking Assassination That Changed America Forever.†Because his television talk show keeps him busy, O’Reilly has a coauthor, Martin Dugard, who will continue to work with him on “Killing Jesus.â€

Although the books are incredibly popular, there is something disturbing about a series of histories based around the violent death of major figures. Maybe it’s the form of speech -- the “killing†in the titles is a present participle, carrying with it a sense of being in the moment.

After “Killing Kennedy,†“Killing Lincoln†and “Killing Jesus,†what can we expect from O’Reilly? At some point, he may run out of political and historical figures -- when that happens, he’s welcome to choose from this possible list of killer book titles.
