Ivanka Trump’s jewelry brand goes silent after mixing promotional and political messaging

The phones at Ivanka Trump’s fine jewelry line hold no answer. A day following the media and online criticism of the soon-to-be first daughter over her company sending out a marketing email pointing to the bracelet she wore during her father’s interview on “60 Minutes,†employees at all extensions of her jewelry brand did not accept calls.

Anti-Trump denizens had taken the press release as an opportunity to mull over how the family could use the White House as a commercial platform for its many corporations.

On Nov. 16, multiple e-mails and calls to the fine jewelry brand’s public relations department went unanswered. The brand’s accounting, retail relations and operator lines also didn’t answer.

An employee in the production department did answer, but promptly terminated the call.

The Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry brand issued a statement late on Nov. 15 acknowledging a potential conflict while placing blame on an overzealous junior marketing employee, and noting that the brand is “still making adjustments postelection.â€

Preelection, it was reported that Ivanka Trump’s brand was not affected by the questionable remarks and policies made by her father Donald during his campaign. In the weeks leading up to the election, the eldest Trump daughter announced new extensions to her brand, including a kids’ bedding line. A costume jewelry line created in partnership with Lord & Taylor was also unveiled.
