Nike X Riccardo Tisci sneaker collaboration hits e-tail Friday

Nike’s footwear collaboration with Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci, which had its bricks and mortar premiere in New York City late last month, is set to hit the Web on Friday.

According to Nike’s website, four silhouettes of the Nike + R.T. Air Force 1 collection will be available online beginning April 11. Although the announcement does not include a specific list of e-tailers (besides its own nike.com e-commerce portal), luxury men’s website Mr. Porter has been touting the arrival of the collection since midweek.

Although the full collection includes a predominantly black leather colorway as well, it’s the white leather version that debuted to great hoopla at an N.Y.C. pop-up shop in March that can be purchased online. (According to a Nike rep, the rest of the collection is slated to drop sometime next month).

The four Tisci-tweaked silhouettes up for grabs Friday include the Nike Air Force 1 Low (which will retail for $230), the Air Force 1 Mid ($260), Air Force 1 Hi ($320) and the most eye-catching and fashion forward of the four, the Nike Air Force 1 Boot ($340), a gladiator-worthy number that grafts a black, lace-to-the-knee component to a classic white Air Force 1 silhouette.

Taken together there’s a distinct tribal-meets-the-street vibe to the leather kicks, with stripes and pops of oranges, bright yellows and light blues, vertical-striped synthetic suede tongues, perforated toe boxes, waxed laces and debossed gold logos orange sock liners. The most overtly exotic touch, Nike’s iconic swoosh rendered in a brown tumbled leather edged in burnt orange.

We’re looking forward to seeing these collaborative kicks up close and “out in the wild.†Judging by the reaction to last month’s New York City release, we won’t have long to wait.
