Collaboration Nation: Lacoste, J. Crew partner on polo shirts
French sportswear brand Lacoste and American-as-apple-pie J. Crew have collaborated on a spring 2015 polo shirt style for men, women and children that is being sold exclusively through the U.S. retailer.
The cotton polo shirts don’t look all that different from afar but can be easily differentiated by a notched crocodile logo that’s blue (instead of the more familiar green) and has “Lacoste†embroidered across it in a cursive font. It’s apparently an archival version of the logo from 1983, which we assume is a nod to the year J. Crew was founded.
The shirts also boast a notched “tennis tail†hem like some vintage versions and color choices include white, navy blue, burgundy, heather gray and persimmon orange.
Available now in 30 bricks-and-mortar stores nationwide (including the Grove location locally) as well as online, the polos retail for $55 (for a kids’ version) and $98 (men’s and women’s) with a poppable-collar one-piece for baby retailing for $75.
