‘Cutthroat Kitchen’s’ Alton Brown branches into fashion

Alton Brown is something of a Renaissance everyman. The popular Food Network host was a cinematographer before he launched his seminal “Good Eats†show, dedicated to teaching home cooks the craft and science of cooking in a zany and entertaining way.

The show aired for more than a dozen years before Brown shut it down in 2012. Meanwhile, he’s hosted or appeared on numerous other Food Network series, most recently hosting “Cutthroat Kitchen,†which debuted in August.

In his spare time he’s known as a motorcycle aficionado, pilot and family man.

But fashion? That’s something we didn’t see coming from A.B.

But yes, he’s entered the ranks of celebrities who dabble in fashion, dipping a toe in the sartorial soup with a new bow tie collaboration with Hook+Albert. The five reversible bow ties were all inspired by Brown’s personal style and named by him. They are to go on sale starting Oct. 21, in time for the holiday season.
