‘Two and a Half Men’ swaps Angus T. Jones with lesbian character
“Two and a Half Men†is about to become “Two Men and a Gay Woman.â€
Partly as a replacement for Angus T. Jones -- whose screen time will be sharply cut after he publicly bashed the show as “filth†last year -- CBS’ hit sitcom is going to add a recurring and possibly permanent lesbian character named Jenny. She’s the 21-year-old illegitimate daughter of the late Charlie Harper, who was played by Charlie Sheen, who himself was booted from the show after tangling with his bosses.
The role of Jenny has yet to be cast, but reports say she’s -- surprise -- “sexy and gorgeous.†(Has any hit show ever added a character who could be described as “average-looking and unremarkable)
She “will share many traits with her deceased father, including her love of women,†E! News reported.
Wow, this could give CBS and Warner Bros. a rich new opportunity to explore issues of equality and social justice. Or, knowing the show’s record, it could provide a rich new source of lesbian jokes. Your call.
A Warner Bros. spokeswoman confirmed the reports but declined to elaborate.
What do you think of the move?
