The “Veronica Mars†resurgence shows no signs of slowing down. The CW President Mark Pedowitz announced on Wednesday that a digital spinoff series is in the works for the network’s online-only platform, CW Seed.

“Veronica Mars†creator Rob Thomas’ hugely successful Kickstarter campaign to make a “Veronica Mars†movie certainly got the network’s attention, Pedowitz acknowledged during a session at the Television Critics Assn. press tour in Pasadena.

“Rob and I spoke last night,†Pedowitz said. “The show might not appear before the ‘Veroinca Mars’ movie comes out, but Rob is very excited to do something for CW Seed.â€

The deal for the digital series is so fresh that Pedowitz had no other information. But because CW Seed is a testing ground of sorts for what might work on television, fans could see “Veronica Mars†back during regular programming in the future.

In 2013, The CW experienced it’s most-watched fall lineup since 2010. With popular returning shows like “The Vampire Diaries†alongside new contenders including “The Carrie Diaries†and “Reign,†the CW still targets the demographic of ages 18 to 34, but Pedowitz says that the network is slowly broadening its reach.

The other big announcement on Wednesday was that The CW has acquired the four-hour miniseries “Labyrinth.â€

The show, which stars John Hurt, Sebastian Stan and Jessica Brown-Findlay, chronicles the quest to protect a book that contains the secrets to the true Holy Grail.

Finally, when it comes to summer programming, the network is taking a gamble on the power of magic with two shows: One from Penn & Teller and another called “Masters of Illusion.â€
