Stevie Nicks really wants to write music for ‘Game of Thrones’
Stevie Nicks has become a huge “Game of Thrones†fan, and now she wants to write music for the HBO series.
The Fleetwood Mac singer was recently interviewed by the U.K.’s Radio Times magazine and revealed her deep love for both the HBO series and the novels it’s based on.
“How in the world does somebody come up with these 15 or so characters and then everything that’s wrapped around each one of the 15 characters?†Nicks wondered. “It blows my mind that [George R.R. Martin is] able to create this vast, interlinked world.â€

While she can’t imagine writing novels like Martin’s, she does want to find a way to demonstrate her own talents in the imaginary world of Westeros.
“I’d love to write some music for the show,†Nicks told the magazine. “I’ve written a bunch of poetry about it -- one for each of the characters.â€
She recently discovered the show during a rough period after the death of her mother and a battle with pneumonia, when she says she didn’t leave her house for five months.
While Nicks has appeared on TV recently on “Up All Night†and “American Horror Story: Coven,†it would certainly be notable if she wrote an original song for the series.
And it wouldn’t be completely unheard of. In the show’s first three seasons, “Game of Thrones†has featured real-world versions of songs that exist within the fantasy world of the show, including “The Rains of Castamere†by the National and “The Bear and the Maiden Fair†by the Hold Steady.
Perhaps she could take a crack at “The Mermaid’s Lament†next season?
