HBO releases new trailer for music series âVinylâ
HBO has released a new trailer for âVinylâ, its much-anticipated series on the â70s music scene. The series is the latest effort from âBoardwalk Empireâ creator and âThe Sopranosâ executive producer Terence Winter. Set in New York, âVinylâ explores the life and times of record label president Richie Finestra (Bobby Cannavale) as he struggles with being a rich and powerful white guy.
Thankfully, HBO has the best in the business on board âVinylâ particularly when it comes to managing stories about powerful, but pained dudes. Along with Winter, the showâs executive producers include Mick Jagger and Martin Scorsese. Scorsese, for whom Winter previously scripted âWolf of Wall Streetâ is also directing the pilot episode. Scorsese and Jagger previously worked together on the 2006 documentary âShine A Light.â
Along with Cannavale, âVinylâ will star Olivia Wilde and Jaggerâs son, James. Check out the trailer, if only to see more shots of the showâs live performances and savvy utilization of The Stoogesâ âI Wanna Be Your Dogâ. âVinylâ is scheduled to debut in January 2016. Its first season will consist of 10 episodes.
