Fox adds a fifth Gordon Ramsay series as part of a multiyear deal
Gordon Ramsay, the temperamental British chef, has been a fixture on Fox since the 2005 debut of “Hell’s Kitchen.†Now the network is extending the relationship with Ramsay even further with a multiyear deal that includes a new fifth show to star him, this time with a group of budding child chefs. Will kids be enough to break the gruff Ramsay?
As with “Hell’s Kitchen†and “Kitchen Nightmares,†the premise of “Junior MasterChef†has been road-tested already in the U.K. and deemed a hit, so it’s coming to our shores. On the program, a group of preteen budding chefs will compete to win the favor of Ramsay and his fellow judges. Does this mean Ramsay will make a kid cry, or will the youngsters bring Ramsay to the breaking point? Only time will tell.

The new series, which is expected on Fox sometimes in the 2013-14 season, will join the already-on-the-air Ramsay shows “Hell’s Kitchen,†“Hotel Hell,†“Kitchen Nightmares†and “MasterChef.â€
In addition, the network picked up a 13th season of “Hell’s Kitchen†and a fifth and sixth season of “MasterChef.â€
Although the most recent season premiere of “Hell’s Kitchen†in March was down from the previous year, the aging reality competition program has remained steady in the ratings over time.
The ever-busy Ramsay also appears on “Gordon Ramsay’s Ultimate Cookery Course,†which airs in the U.K. on Channel 4.
