The CW is on an early renewal spree, announcing Thursday that “Arrow,†“Reignâ€, “The Originals,†“The Vampire Diaries†and “Supernatural†will return next season.

CW president Mark Pedowitz, in a statement, listed the reasons. The Tuesday pairing of “The Originals†and “Supernatural†has boosted the night for the network, helping it achieve its most-watched Tuesday since 2008. The rookie “Vampire Diaries†spinoff will return for a sophomore season while the long-running vet will return for a 10th season that will help it reach its 200th episode.

“The Vampire Diaries,†meanwhile, continues to be a force in the young adult demo on Thursday nights, and extends its strength in the social media sphere. And “Reign,†though not exactly on par with its “Vampire Diaries†lead-in, has steadily grown in its time period; during last month’s TCA, Pedowitz seemed bullish on its prospects.

Then there’s “Arrow,†which hit a target for the network in the ratings out the gate with its freshman launch last season. In its second season, it’s the network’s most-watched series (3.9 million) and has proved that the CW isn’t all about the girls, with the show gaining among men 18-34.

“[W]e now have strong nights on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,†Pedowitz said in a statement. “I’m very pleased to announce early pickups for all five series, and let our fans know they’ll have more great drama to look forward to next season.
