The weirdness will go on in “Wayward Pines†-- at least for another season.

Fox announced Wednesday that it’s picking up Season 2 of the thriller series from writer-director M. Night Shyamalan, the master of the supernatural twist who’s been behind such features as “The Sixth Sense†and “Signs.â€

Fox will premiere 10 new episodes in summer 2016, according to a media release.

In “Wayward Pines,†Matt Dillon plays a Secret Service agent who’s trapped in a small Idaho town where two federal agents disappeared.

The first season of “Wayward Pines,†which aired last summer, was a strong performer for Fox. Over a 30-day “multiplatform†ratings basis -- which measures streaming sites and DVR playback as well as conventional TV viewing -- the show accumulated an audience of 9.4 million total viewers, the network said. That gave it the biggest delayed-viewing lift of any series in Fox history.
