Netflix is going big with its next original series. After tapping the talents of David Fincher and Eli Roth for previous productions, the online outfit is getting Andy and Lana Wachowski, creators of “The Matrix†series, who will work with J. Michael Straczynski, best known as creator of the groundbreaking science fiction series “Babylon 5.â€

Netflix has done political thriller (“House of Cardsâ€), horror (the upcoming “Hemlock Groveâ€) and comedy (the upcoming resurrection of “Arrested Developmentâ€), so it makes sense that science fiction is next on its development slate.

The series, titled “Sense8,†is described as “a gripping global tale of minds linked and souls hunted.â€
