The opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in Dallas on Thursday may serve as the latest milestone for the former president, but it offered Jon Stewart an opportunity to again lower the boom on one of his favorite targets.

The host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show†took obvious glee in noting the return of the spotlight to Bush 4½ years after he left office. “Heeeee’s back,†Stewart said with a wide smile.

He wondered if Bush during those years had devoted himself to dedicated public service in the tradition of other recent presidents such as Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.

His question was followed by a clip of Bush being interviewed in which he says, “I paint two or three hours a day.â€

Imitating Bush, Stewart said, “Sometimes it seems only a gallon of paint can drown out the screams of those I’ve wronged.â€

Stewart also renamed the library and museum “the Hard Rock Cafe of Catastrophic Policy Decisions.â€
