The 2017 Emmy Awards have come to an end, with “Veep,†“The Handmaid’s Tale†and “Big Little Lies†taking home the top prizes in the comedy, drama and limited series categories, respectively. Elisabeth Moss of “The Handmaid’s Tale†and Sterling K. Brown of “This Is Us†went home with the lead acting in a drama awards. “Veep’s†Julia Louis-Dreyfus and “Atlanta’s†Donald Glover won the top acting trophies in the comedy category. “Westworld†and “Saturday Night Live†led the nominations with 22 nods apiece. “SNL†also broke its own record for the most nominations for any program with 231 total. This year, it took home the variety sketch series Emmy award, with Kate McKinnon and Alec Baldwin both earning awards for their supporting performances on the show.

The Creative Arts Emmys ceremonies held in Los Angeles last weekend revealed the winners in several categories that don’t make it to air on the Primetime Emmy Awards, with HBO’s “Westworld,†NBC’s “SNL†and Netflix’s “Stranger Things†each taking home five awards. Among the other prominent winners at the Creative Arts ceremony were Melissa McCarthy for guest actress in a comedy series, for her take on then-White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer; Alexis Bledel for her guest actress appearance in Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Taleâ€; and RuPaul Charles, who earned an Emmy as host of the unstructured reality program “RuPaul’s Drag Race.â€
