‘American Idol’ by the numbers

With more than a dozen seasons, hundreds upon hundreds of episodes and a reality television model based almost entirely on phone numbers and populist voting, it seemed only fitting to say goodbye to Fox’s landmark television series “American Idol†by breaking down the digits.
