According to her website, Björk has had successful surgery to remove a vocal cord polyp.

The Icelandic singer writes on her website that doctors discovered the polyp a few years ago and that she first decided to deal with the problem by doing stretches and eating differing foods.

She later decided to have laser surgery. “I have to say, in my case, surgery rocks. I stayed quiet for 3 weeks and then started singing and definitely feel like my cords are as good as pre-nodule. It’s been very satisfying to sing all the clear notes again.â€

Björk said that the problem was the reason she had to cancel dates earlier this year, and that she did not want to give details to fans until she was positive the surgery would work. “So looking forward to singing for you in 2013,†she wrote.
