Fans of the sweet, R&B-inflected; harmonies of ‘90s boy bands should prepare themselves for a meltdown. New Kids on the Block, Boyz II Men and the newly reunited 98 Degrees announced Tuesday that they were prepping a North American arena tour.

Set to kick off May 31 in Uncasville, Conn., the 28-city trek -- dubbed the Package -- includes a stop at Staples Center on July 5.

While teenage girls are busy screaming for One Direction and the Wanted, their big sisters -- and their moms -- will certainly hit these shows in droves, especially since the three groups have transitioned from boys to, indeed, fully grown men.

With lush a cappella harmonies, satin sheet balladry and boy-next-door charm, Boyz II Men -- the most successful R&B; group of all time -- helped usher in a golden era of the boy band with its 1991 debut, “Cooleyhighharmony.†The group has continued to record and tour since its ‘90s heyday, and in October 2011 released its 10th album, “Twenty,†to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

New Kids on the Block has enjoyed a resurgence since its members reunited in 2007 for a successful joint tour with fellow ‘90s boy band Backstreet Boys. This will be the first tour for 98 Degrees, which reunited last year, in more than 12 years. Both groups have announced they will release new albums this year.

Tickets go on sale Feb. 2 through Ticketmaster. More information, including a full itinerary, can be found on the tour’s official site.
