SXSW 2013: Kendrick Lamar teases Jay-Z collaboration, streams show tonight
There’s not much Kendrick Lamar could have done to make us bigger fans of his critically lauded major-label debut, “good kid, m.A.A.d city.â€
And then he collaborated with Jay-Z.
The Compton rapper teamed up with Hov for a remix to one of the album’s standout tracks, “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe.â€
While we all weren’t lucky enough to be at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, to hear Jay’s longtime friend and engineer Young Guru preview the track, the power of the Internet brings us a video of Guru previewing the track courtesy of a party-goer with a shaky hand -- quite understandable, given how hard the song goes in the club.

Jay comes in midway through with that casually cool flow that’s instantly recognizable. “Up in the clouds / me and my spouse / rumors on the ground / getting too loud / please turn that … down,†he raps.
Of course, Guru was smart enough to pull the rest of the record, telling the crowd, “y’all might have to wait.â€
No word on whether the cut will serve as the next single from the album. Until the song leaks in full, pop on over to the land of YouTube to hear the snippet. We’d post it here, but there’s a few too many of our favorite four-letter friends in the lyrics. Sorry to kill the vibe -- but to tide you over, Spotify is streaming Lamar’s performance tonight at 8 p.m. Central time, and here’s video of a Google chat Lamar was part of Wednesday.
