They’re baaaack: Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake are rapping again
Fans of Kendrick Lamar had more than one option to hear the Los Angeles rapper’s music on late-night television Wednesday.
They could have tuned into “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,†where Lamar dropped by to perform a medley of tunes from his album “To Pimp a Butterfly†-- or they could watch two goofy white guys clown their way through Lamar’s song “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe.â€
Yes, Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake reunited Wednesday on “The Tonight Show†for the latest installment in their ongoing “History of Rap†series. Along with Lamar’s tune, this one included bits of Whodini’s “Friends,†the Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo Money, Mo Problems†and “Summertime†by DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince.
Backed as always by the Roots, Fallon at one point launched into N.W.A’s “Straight Outta Compton†before being stopped by Timberlake, who reminded the show’s host that he’s “straight outta upstate New York.â€
He almost had us fooled.
