Taylor Swift unloads on Tina Fey, house rumors in Vanity Fair

Taylor Swift obviously has no compunction about discussing her personal life -- as long as it’s in a song.

But the pop titan has generally demurred from longer sit-down interviews about her romantic travails and matters of the heart. In a forthcoming issue of Vanity Fair, she pulls back the curtain a bit for writer Nancy Jo Sales -- and aims her ire at some unlikely sources.

First in line? Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who tossed some good-natured ribbing toward Swift and her colorful dating life (which lately included Conor Kennedy and One Direction’s Harry Styles) at this year’s Golden Globes. “You know, Katie Couric is one of my favorite people,†Swift said, “because she said to me she had heard a quote that she loved, that said, ‘There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.’ â€

(Yeesh, Swift didn’t even condemn John Mayer to that fate.)

She goes on to speak about those who stereotype her relationship-centric lyrics as a sign that she’s boy-crazed: “For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that’s taking something that potentially should be celebrated -- a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way -- that’s taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist.â€

The article also includes one of the first in-depth descriptions of Swift’s home (it is “Tim Burton-’Alice in Wonderland’-pirate ship-’Peter Pan’-themed,†which sounds like quite an intense environment for cooking breakfast), and the scoop on what exactly happened with that house near the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port. Smith was rumored to have bought it, but denied doing so in the article: “...if there’s a house rumor, they’ll find out it’s not true when you are actively not ever spotted at that house.†But VF traced some of the ownership paperwork back to a rep from her management company.
