Lauryn Hill is facing eviction from her New Jersey mansion, according to reports circulating Friday.

The eight-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter could be ousted from the South Orange mansion she’s been living in since 2009. She stopped paying rent last month, TMZ reports, and now her landlord is trying to evict her.

The former Fugees member was reportedly due in tenancy court earlier this week, according to South Orange Village Counsel Steve Rother (via Patch).

This proceeding is the latest in her personal financial struggles.

The 37-year-old Hill entered a guilty plea to three counts of tax fraud in June 2012, admitting she intentionally failed to file tax returns in 2005, 2006 and 2007. She allegedly earned more than $1.6 million over that time.

The mother of six claimed that threats to her family were the reason she did not file the clams, NBC News reported.

She is set to be sentenced in the tax evasion case on April 22 when she could face up to a year in jail and a $100,000 fine on each count.

Hill launched her solo career in 1998 with her album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,†which earned five Grammy Awards. Her last album was released in 2001 and since then the multiplatinum artist took time off in 2008 to concentrate on family. The reclusive star returned to the stage in 2010 and went on to make a handful of public appearances, including 2011’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, New York’s Rock the Bells concert and an appearance on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.â€

In February 2012, the singer-songwriter called for respecting artists during their careers at a concert at the Hollywood Palladium. The comments came on the heels of Whitney Houston’s death, but appeared to hold a personal meaning for Hill.

“Love your artists,†she told the sold-out crowd. “When they falter, hold them accountable. But love them.â€
