Lindsay Lohan’s day goes from bad to worse with 3 more charges
Lindsay Lohan’s very bad day got very much worse Thursday when law enforcement on the West Coast finally charged her with three misdemeanor counts related to a June car accident on PCH in Santa Monica.
At the heart of the newest charges, according to L.A. Now: Lying to Santa Monica police about who was driving the car. (Lindsay said it wasn’t her, but ...)
The three counts are giving false information to a peace officer, obstructing or resisting a police officer in the performance of his duty and reckless driving, according to TMZ. If convicted, she could face jail time for each of those three charges.
Lohan had been arrested hours earlier Thursday on suspicion of misdemeanor battery after an incident at the New York City club Avenue, where she was accused of punching another woman in the face.
Taking this all from bad to worse is the fact that Lohan’s still on probation related to a jewelry theft from last year -- and now once a judge declares her probation violated, she’s possibly looking at jail time there too.
“The only terms for you are for you to obey all laws,†Judge Stephanie Sautner told Lohan at L.A.’s Airport Courthouse back in March, when the actress’ probation went from formal to informal.
Sautner also advised Lohan to live her life “in a more mature way. Stop the nightclubbing and focus on your work.â€
The “Liz & Dick†actress was in fact out nightclubbing in the wee hours Thursday when a brawl broke out unrelated to her or to the woman she’s said to have punched, according to a police report obtained by Fox 411. The woman, Tiffany Mitchell, said she “backed up†into someone, got pushed from behind and a few minutes later was popped in the face by a woman she later identified as Lindsay.
Mitchell’s husband was the one who called 911 around 3:45 a.m., the report said. Lohan was reportedly arrested as she was riding away in a car after leaving the club by a side exit.
The last time Lohan saw probation revoked was in October 2011, after she failed to perform community service as expected at the Downtown Women’s Shelter.
