Lindsay Lohan New York arrest: A case of bump and punch?

Lindsay Lohan has been arrested yet again, booked on a charge of misdemeanor assault in New York City after a brouhaha unfolded in the wee hours Thursday morning.

Police told WPIX that a fight had broken out in the club and Lohan and others were trying to move away from it. Along the way, Lindsay and another woman bumped into each other and exchanged words, police said, with Lilo eventually allegedly punching the other woman in the face.

Both women were brought to the New York City’s 10th Precinct house until things were sorted out, but theâ€Liz & Dick†actress was the only one charged.

Lohan was already in a car and leaving the club by the time police arrived on scene, according to TMZ, and allegedly said: “Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me?†as she was taken away in cuffs.

Lohan left the precinct house around four hours after her arrest with a jacket over her head to shield her from a mob of waiting cameras.

The New York arrest complicates Lohan’s legal picture on the West Coast, L.A. Now reports, as she’s expected to be charged with lying to police regarding her Porsche-versus-big-rig crash on PCH earlier this year.

In that case, Lohan told authorities she was not behind the wheel of the car, an assertion investigators have said they found to be untrue. Because Lohan’s still on probation following a jewelry-theft plea, and required to “obey all laws,†a charge of lying to police could be cause to revoke her probation and send her to jail.
