Kristin Chenoweth recovering at home after ‘Good Wife’ accident
Kristin Chenoweth, hospitalized Wednesday after an accident on the New York set of “The Good Wife,†has been released and is recovering at home, according to a rep for the actress.
“She thanks everyone for their prayers and well wishes,†publicist Jill Fritzo said Thursday.
Chenoweth was injured Wednesday when a gust of wind knocked over lighting equipment, which hit her and knocked her down. She’d been filming an episode of “The Good Wife,†which stars Julianna Margulies and will feature Broadway babe Chenoweth in a recurring role this season.
“That area is a vortex for wind ... and a big gust of wind blew the lighting off the scaffolding,†a witness told TMZ. The actress was hit “square in the head,†the witness said. A 911 call was placed shortly after 5 p.m. EDT.
While New York Fire Department representative said a woman injured at the address in question had suffered “minor injuries,†scary photos posted by TMZ showed Chenoweth strapped to a backboard and wearing a neck brace as she was being loaded into an ambulance.
Chenoweth’s usually peppy Twitter account was silent Thursday, with this plaintive plea her most recent tweet, sent the previous afternoon: “Where is a 7/11 when i need one?â€
The actress wasn’t calling 7/11 instead of 911, however: On Wednesday, July 11, 7-Eleven stores were giving away free Slurpees. And who doesn’t love a Slurpee?
Best wishes, Kristin!
