Kristen Stewart sorry for making people ‘so angry,’ she says
Kristen Stewart is still sorry, folks. In a sweeping, general, you-still-don’t-own-me sort of way.
“I apologize to everyone for making them so angry,†the actress told Newsweek, presumably referring to her “indiscretion†with married director Rupert Sanders back in July, which rattled her relationship with Robert Pattinson and sent shock waves through the “Twilight†fan community.
“It was not my intention.â€
What her intention was is not made clear in the interview, published Monday, though we assume it was something along the all-I-wanna-do-is-have-some-fun spectrum — something not unheard of for a woman in her early 20s.

It’s not the first time Stewart has expressed remorse after she was photographed in intimate embraces with her “Snow White and the Huntsman†director.
“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected,†Stewart said in a statement to People in July. “This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.â€
Fortunately, “It’s not a terrible thing if you’re either loved or hated,†she told Newsweek, though she was not referring to boyfriend Robert Pattinson but rather to the public at large. Public sentiment doesn’t keep her from doing her thing, which is acting and, currently, promoting the movie “On the Road,†based on the book by Jack Kerouac.
The fame has kept her from doing one thing, however: venturing out into the world as often as she’d like. “But I’m going out a lot more now. I was starting to get closed off and self-conscious, and I’m trudging forth into the world more often.â€
Still, when she was taking a road trip to prep for filming “On the Road,†she had to deal with the reality of “Twilight’s†Bella Swan effect on her fans, wherever their paths might cross.
“There was a lot of skirting of little girls at rest stops,†she said. “Like a volleyball team would pull up and I’d dive behind a bush.â€
“On the Road†hits theaters Friday.
