Jason Aldean’s tour bus hits, kills pedestrian in Indiana
A tour bus carrying country singer Jason Aldean and company hit and killed a pedestrian in the wee hours Monday in Indiana.
The 36-year-old “Night Train†singer has since gone online to confirm the accident and express his condolences.
Albert Kennedy of Vincennes, Ind., “walked out into the middle of the roadway†around 1:30 a.m. and was struck by the bus, ABC News reported. He was confirmed dead at the scene.
A sheriff who talked to TMZ said Kennedy was often seen walking around town but had no explanation for why he went into traffic. The bus driver was not at fault, the website said.
“With a heavy heart, I’m sad to say that a man passed away last night after stepping out in front of my bus in Indiana. In all the years I’ve been touring and all the miles we’ve driven, nothing prepares you for something like this to happen,†Aldean wrote via his WhoSay account on Monday. “I’m praying for Albert Kennedy’s family and friends today and ask that you do the same.â€
Aldean, who gives an annual Concert for the Cure in support of breast cancer research, on Friday night donated $575,000 toward the cause during a show in New Orleans, according to Country Weekly.
