Nick Gordon reportedly pleading to attend Bobbi Kristina Brown’s private funeral
Bobbi Kristina Brown’s funeral will be held Saturday morning in the Atlanta area, and, as it was with her mother’s funeral three years ago, there is tension around who’s on the list.
The only child of the late Whitney Houston and performer Bobby Brown died in hospice care Sunday at age 22, nearly six months after she was found unconscious in a bathtub at her home.
The funeral is invitation-only, and those who attend will have to present government-issued ID to be admitted into St. James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, Ga., according to an invitation obtained by TMZ.

Also noted on the invitation, per TMZ: In lieu of flowers, a request has been made for donations to a charity operated by Pat Houston, Krissi Brown’s aunt -- a decision that had Leolah Brown, Bobby Brown’s sister, fuming Wednesday on Facebook.
“This is nothing more than another scheme of Pat Houston, to try to get money put into her account for her personal gain,†Leolah wrote in a rant imploring people not to donate to the Marion P. Foundation and saying that the choice of charity hadn’t been discussed with her brother. “There is much evil hidden behind this foundation.â€
Nick Gordon, who was living with Bobbi Kristina Brown when she was found Jan. 31 but wasn’t allowed to see her in the hospital at all before she died, is begging to attend the funeral, according to an email obtained by People.
“I’m asking you both for your blessing in regards to me attending Krissi’s funeral,†he wrote in the email allegedly sent to dad Bobby Brown and Pat Houston. “I do not want to cause any trouble or commotion so I’m emailing you privately in advance.â€
He goes on to ask the two, who were co-guardians while Krissi Brown was incapacitated, to put differences aside and let him attend, because, he says, she would have wanted him to.
“I am destroyed that she is gone and I need to say goodbye,†Gordon wrote.
Gordon, who was raised by Whitney Houston from age 12 as a sort of brother to Brown and got involved in a romantic relationship with her after Houston’s death, was sued by his former girlfriend’s legal conservator the day after Brown was transferred to hospice care. The multimillion-dollar suit alleges abuse and more.
The investigation into Brown’s death is still open, according to authorities in Atlanta. Early autopsy results showed no obvious signs of foul play, but test results are still pending.
On Tuesday, a TMZ story citing law enforcement sources claimed that Brown had fallen asleep in a bathtub while drunk the night before her mother died in 2012. TMZ said Gordon’s attorney Jose Baez, who successfully represented Casey Anthony, was aware of the anecdote and intended to use it should Gordon be brought to trial in connection with his girlfriend’s death, to argue that his client had done nothing wrong.
Brown will be buried Monday next to her mother at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, N.J., ABC News reported on Tuesday.
