The General Assembly hall of the United Nations is not a venue that one would immediately associate with a music video shoot. But one is not Beyoncé.

On Sunday, Blue Ivy Carter’s mom released a performance clip (watch below) of her song “I Was Here,†a dramatic Diane Warren-penned ballad that Beyoncé belted inside the famous chamber, all in support of World Humanitarian Day.

Bey has been teasing the campaign for weeks on her official website, one that encourages people worldwide to do good deeds in service of others.

“The World Humanitarian Day 2012 campaign has made social media history by sharing more than one billion messages of hope,†the U.N. said in a statement.

Mrs. Jay-Z has also enlisted the help of famous friends Gwyneth Paltrow, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Chris Martin and First Lady Michelle Obama to support the cause.

“We all have our purpose, and we all have our strengths … it feels so wonderful to do something for someone else. And I think for the U.N. to want to include the whole world was something important,†she told CNN’s Anderson Cooper of the project.
