Amanda Seyfried mistaken for Lindsay Lohan at New Jersey airport

Amanda Seyfried was mistaken for her troubled “Mean Girls†costar Lindsay Lohan at a New Jersey airport.

“I just got mistaken for a Ms. Lohan at Newark Airport,†Seyfried tweeted Thursday.

Don’t most celeb-types look alike when they’re traveling inconspicuously?

The blond “Les Miserables†star, 27, was wearing red oversized sunglasses, a dark sweater and ripped jeans when she strolled through the airport, according to Us Weekly. Lilo, who is currently sporting her natural red hair color, is working in Brazil, E! News reports.

One of Seyfried’s Twitter followers jokingly let her know that she’s been guilty of the mix-up, too: “I do that all the time when I see you,†wrote Sarah Schechter, the VP of production for Warner Bros.

“no, yeah. I get it,†Seyfried replied.

“the bigger mistake is Newark,†Schechter wrote back.

“I couldn’t agree with you more at this moment,†Seyfried added.

Seyfried made “Mean Girls†with Lohan, Rachel McAdams and Tina Fey back in 2004 and has even called the comedy her “best work.†Though she hasn’t stayed besties with Lilo, Seyfried isn’t really surprised by her costar’s behavior.

“Lindsay was great on ‘Mean Girls,’†Seyfried told Teen Vogue in 2008. “I think that was before she got a little nuts. I’ve met some people who are just so freaking distraught and who don’t know how to handle it.... I kind of don’t expect some of these girls, who’ve been working since they were two, to be sane. This business is just weird when you’re young.â€

Seyfried will next appear as 1970s porn star Linda Lovelace in “Lovelace,†which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. Coincidentally, Lohan was up for a similar role in the competing film “Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story,†but was dropped because of her ongoing legal issues.

“We stuck by her very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support. The impossibility of insuring her and other issues have made it impossible for us to go forward,†director Matthew Wilder wrote on Facebook at the time, later telling RadarOnline in November 2010, “I feel like 16 tons of weight are off my mind not having to deal with the Lindsay Lohan situation... I still think [Lindsay] has great talent and if she respects those gifts then she will go on to show people what she is capable of doing.â€

The role was then given to Malin Ackerman. Meanwhile, Lohan is awaiting a 90-day lock-in rehab sentence following no-contest pleas to misdemeanors related to a crash last year on PCH, and she’s guest starring with once-troubled compatriot Charlie Sheen in his FX series “Anger Management.â€
