The TNT television series “King & Maxwell,†which is relocating from Vancouver, Canada, is among the winners of California’s annual film tax credit lottery.

The California Film Commission said Tuesday 31 projects had been approved for state film and TV tax credits, up from last year’s 28.

The film commission said 380 projects had applied for a piece of the $100 million the state allocates annually for film and television projects, a nearly 20% jump compared with last year’s numbers.

“The record number of applications this year serves as affirmation that the production industry wants to stay at home in California,†said California Film Commission Executive Director Amy Lemisch. “But tax credits now drive much of the decision-making process, and sadly many projects that weren’t selected to receive California credits will be shot elsewhere.â€

“King & Maxwell,†which is produced by CBS, was among two relocating TV series included in the list of 31 projects.

The other approved show was MTV’s “Teen Wolf,†which also received credit last year from the commission for relocating its filming from Georgia to L.A.

The move of “King & Maxwell†marked the latest blow to Vancouver, which has seen a sharp fall in production due to rising competition from other cities in North America that have stepped up their film incentives.

Fourteen feature films were selected to receive credits, including Warner Brothers’ movie spinoff of the hit HBO series “Entourage†and Lionsgate’s “The Wash.†Twelve cable TV series also won credits, including “Pretty Little Liars,†“Switched at Birth†and “Justified.â€
