Google Nexus 4 smartphone sold out until after Christmas?
The Google Nexus 4 smartphone has once again sold out, and it looks like you won’t be able to get it until after Christmas.
The 8 GB model of the flagship Android phone is now listed as sold out in bright red all-cap letters on the Google Play store.
Its 16 GB counterpart, meanwhile, can still be purchased, but shipping wait times are listed as five to six weeks from now -- putting the earliest possible arrival time as the second week of January.
QUIZ: What set the Internet on fire in 2012?
The LG-built device is sold on contract from T-Mobile, but if you check the Seattle-based carrier’s website, it’s listed as “OUT OF STOCK!â€
I’ve contacted Google to confirm that the Nexus 4 is indeed unavailable until after Santa makes his annual deliveries, but I have not heard back from the Mountain View, Calif., company.
The Nexus 4 also sold out last month just minutes after going on sale. It remained out of stock until a week ago, but it didn’t last long after going back on sale.
It seems demand has either been incredibly high or Google’s supply is very low.
