New Google devices go on sale online; Nexus 4 sells out

A handful of new Google devices went on sale today, and already some have sold out.

The new LG Nexus 4, Google’s latest flagship smartphone, is sold out on the Google Play store after going on sale earlier this morning. The website’s pages for the $299 8-GB and $349 16-GB models of the smartphone now say “Coming Soon.â€

The Next Web is reporting that the phone sold out in the U.S. in less than an hour.

The LG Nexus 4 features a 4.7-inch screen and is perhaps the most elegant Android smartphone on the market. It sold out despite not being capable of connecting to LTE networks, which provide the fastest data speeds but are not available in all parts of the country, depending on the carrier you use.

Also on sale today is the Nexus 10 tablet by Samsung. The Nexus 10 is Google’s answer to the fourth-generation 9.7-inch iPad and features a 2,560-by-1,600 high-resolution display with 300 pixels per inch. The Nexus 10 is available at $399 for a 16-GB model and $499 for a 32-GB model.

Google also beefed up its line of Nexus 7 small-sized tablets today by adding a 32-GB model that is capable of connecting to AT&T; and T-Mobile’s 4G networks. It’s available for $299.

The Mountain View, Calif., company also began selling a new Chromebook laptop this morning, the Acer C7. It costs $199, and unlike most other Chromebooks, it comes with hefty storage space at 320 GB.
