Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian are moving on to a new episode
The marital home of former Laker Lamar Odom and television personality Khloe Kardashian came on the market in Tarzana at $5.499 million this month and was in escrow in 10 days.
Odom and Kardashian bought the house in 2009 — the year they were married — for $3.95 million. She filed for a divorce in December and resumed using her maiden name.
The Mediterranean-style villa sits on three-quarters of an acre in gated Mulholland Park. Entered through a two-story foyer with a sweeping staircase, the 8,000-square-foot home features custom closets, mosaic tile details, a den, a home theater, seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms.
The resort-like grounds include a swimming pool with waterfalls and a spa, an outdoor kitchen and fire pits.
Odom, 34, played forward with the Los Angeles Lakers from 2004 to 2011. He played for the Clippers from 1999 to 2003 and again from 2012 to 2013.
Kardashian, 29, has been on many reality shows featuring members of her family, starting in 2007 with “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.â€

DeGeneres snags another trophy
Ellen DeGeneres loves a trophy house. Now the daytime talk show host has bought the A. Quincy Jones-designed Brody House for $39.888 million in an off-market deal.
Built in 1950 for modernist art collector Frances Brody and her husband, real estate developer Sidney Brody, the house first changed hands in 2010 for $14.888 million. The investor/owner spent three years working with the Los Angeles Conservancy to restore the house.
Set on 2.3 acres, the Midcentury Modern home has floor-to-ceiling glass walls and atrium living space. There were nine bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms and 11,511 square feet of living space when it was listed three years ago in the Multiple Listing Service. A swimming pool, a pool/guest house and a tennis court complete the grounds.
The Times’ Mapping L.A. database considers the neighborhood to be Westwood while the MLS defines the area as Holmby Hills. Among neighboring houses is the Playboy Mansion.
Passionate about architecture, DeGeneres has demonstrated her design expertise in a string of homes that she and her spouse, Portia de Rossi, have owned, put their stamp on and resold throughout Southern California.
Kurt Rappapport of Westside Estate Agency handled the sale of the Brody House.

The swimming pool, lawn and deck have canyon views. There are also mountain views from the nearly half-acre site.
Williams, 33, is a former Women’s Tennis Assn. No. 1-ranked singles player. In addition to nearly two dozen Grand Slam titles, she has four Olympic gold medals. She also has an interior design firm based in Florida and a fashion line.
She bought the property for $1.9 million in 2005, public records show, and owns other property in the Los Angeles area.
Christine Taylor of Gibson International and Rada Roberts of Coldwell Banker are the listing agents.

The third-of-an-acre yard includes a swimming pool and lawn.
The keyboardist-singer-composer bought the property in 1985 for $375,000.
Duke, who died last year at 67, made about 30 solo albums and collaborated with such musicians as Al Jarreau, Stevie Wonder and Frank Zappa. He was instrumental in fusing jazz with rock, funk and disco elements and won a Grammy in 2000 for producing the Dianne Reeves album “In the Moment — Live in Concert.â€
The house, which is already in escrow, has been for lease several times in recent years.
