Garry Shandling’s home in Brentwood quietly sells for $10.65 million
The Brentwood estate where comic and writer Garry Shandling made his home at the time of his death has sold for $10.65 million in a deal completed outside the Multiple Listing Service.
The Hacienda-style home, built in 1992, sits behind walls on an acre-plus lot with a gated courtyard, lush landscaping and a rock-style swimming pool. A basketball half-court where Shandling would host pickup games also lies within the grounds.
Within nearly 6,100 square feet of living space is a living room with vaulted ceilings, a formal dining room, an office and a central atrium. The master suite has his-and-hers bathrooms and closets for a total of five bedrooms and eight bathrooms.
Views from the property take in the surrounding canyon, cityscape and ocean.
Shandling, who died in March at 66, had owned the property for more than two decades, records show.
The pioneering television star gained fame in the late 1980s and ’90s with the series “It’s Garry Shandling’s Show†and, later, “The Larry Sanders Show.†His film credits include “What Planet Are You From?†(2000), “Town & Country†(2001) and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier†(2014).
