Actor-entrepreneur Edison Chen snaps up a newly built home in Larchmont
Edison Chen, the Hong Kong film star and fashion entrepreneur, has bought a sleek new home in the Larchmont area of Los Angeles for $2.85 million.
Completed last year, the two-story contemporary features 12-foot ceilings, wood accent walls and modern fixtures throughout. A wall of windows underscores the dramatic two-story entry.
Within nearly 4,400 square feet of open-plan space is a living room with a centerpiece wall fireplace, a formal dining area, a center-island kitchen and an office. Pocketing glass doors off the common areas open grounds containing to a patio and a rectangular swimming pool with a spa.
The master suite — one of five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms — centers on a lavish bath set within walls of tempered glass. A private terrace with built-in setting sits off the master bedroom.
The house came to market late last year for about $3 million and was more recently listed for about $2.9 million, records show.
Neyshia Go of John Aaroe Group was the listing agent, according to the Multiple Listing Service. Michael Fenton of Hilton & Hyland, an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, represented the buyer.
Chen, 36, has Hong Kong film credits that include “Gen-Y Cops†(2000), “Dog Bite Dog†(2006) and the “Infernal Affairs†movies. He made his U.S. debut in the 2006 horror flick “The Grudge 2†and also appeared in “The Dark Knight†(2008).
In 2003, he co-founded the lifestyle clothing company CLOT Inc.
