Samsung teases Windows 8 tablet on Facebook
Samsung posted a picture of a Windows 8 tablet on Facebook late Sunday, teasing that it will be revealed at a trade show in Germany that starts later this week.
The South Korean company posted the picture on one of its Facebook pages with a caption “Don’t worry, it’s just around the corner.â€
The image shows a tablet running Windows 8. Behind it is what appears to be a detachable keyboard, and toward the bottom of the picture, Samsung included “IFA 2012,†a consumer electronics trade show that starts Friday and goes through Sept. 5.
CNET reports that the tablet looks like the Series 5, which Samsung unveiled in a glass case at a June computer expo in Taiwan. The tech company is expected to formally introduce the tablet and all of its features at the trade show in Germany.
The Series 5 will reportedly run a full version of Windows 8. It will include an Intel chip, an 8-megapixel back camera, a 2-megapixel front camera and have a battery life of 10 hours, according to CNET.
The Series 5 sports an 11-inch display, according to the Verge.
Samsung posted a video teasing a gadget, which many believe is also the Series 5, last week. You can see the video below.
