Motley Crue Rocks Vegas Hard
Mötley Crüe will be showing off their “Wild Side†once more, as they return for a second residency at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The rock band is booked for an exclusive 12-show engagement Sept. 18 through Oct. 6.
The Grammy-nominated quartet — still made up of vocalist Vince Neil, guitarist Mick Mars, bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee — is one of the world’s best-selling groups of all time, having sold over 80 million albums.
Titled “An Intimate Evening in Hell,†the new show is a completely different act from their previously-sold-out residency last winter. Audiences can expect a more personal experience that is more “brutal and dangerous,†Sixx told Las Vegas Guide.
“Last time our goal was to [be] theatrical … giving [fans] more eye candy than your usual rock show. This time our feeling is to bring it back with the four band members and the songs,†Sixx said. This time around, “Everybody has a view of the band members and everybody can make eye contact with us.â€
Sixx promised that their new routine will be high-energy and will feature as many of their chart toppers as they can fit into a two-hour show. “We’re playing ‘Sex,’†Sixx teased.
As for media reports that his band is retiring soon, co-founder Sixx says they’re not ready to say goodbye just yet.
“We’re just focusing on Vegas right now. We’ve got music to make, a movie to make, so much stuff … before that day comes.â€
Tickets start at $49.50 and are available through www.ticketmaster.com.
