New Donald Trump bio is being rushed into print, due out Oct. 6
A biography of Donald Trump will hit shelves earlier than planned.
It’s not like Donald Trump’s life is a secret. But his prominence as a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination has prompted publisher Thomas Dunne to move up a forthcoming bio.
Instead of waiting until January 2016, those craving ever more of Trump will be able to buy “Never Enough: Donald Trump and the Pursuit of Success†on Oct. 6. The biography is by journalist Michael D’Antonio.
What can they expect from the book? For starters, Thomas Dunne writes, “The revealing new biography draws on multiple exclusive interviews with ‘the Donald’ himself†— not that getting Trump to talk about himself has ever been a problem.
Trump has already penned a number of memoirs, including “Trump: The Art of the Deal†(1987), “Trump — How to Get Rich†(2004), “Trump — Think Big and Kick Ass in Business and Life†(2007) and “Trump — Never Give Up: How I Turned My Biggest Challenges into Success†(2008).
In the biography “Never Enough,†publisher Thomas Dunne promises, D’Antonio tells a “meticulous and compelling account†that “recognizes Trump as an iconic figure of our media-dominated age, a man who parlayed unequaled fame into astounding wealth. Psychologically informed and rich in detail, it is an accurate, compelling, and balanced assessment of Trump’s approach to life, business and politics.â€
There are interviews with Trump’s adult children, Ivanka, Donald Jr. and Eric. There is information drawn from interviews with Trump’s ex-wives, Marla Maples and Ivana Trump, but it’s not clear whether they are current enough to address the recent controversy that involved Ivana’s mid-divorce statement that Trump had forced her to have non-consensual sex and one of his lawyers saying, and later apologizing for saying, “You cannot rape your spouse.â€
The biggest challenge for the forthcoming bio will be to keep up with Trump’s controversies and outrageous statements, which continue to put him in the public eye and have made him the improbable front-runner among Republican presidential hopefuls.
